Rron Imami

Rron Imami. I design and build websites, brands and digital products. London.

I design the work.
Then I build it.

If your website is holding the business back, I design and build what replaces it. One person, start to finish.

Selected work

Built, not just designed.

Four things I designed and built. Each one opens into the full case study on the portfolio side of this site.

The live funkydesigntools.com home page: cream and orange retro branding, a headline reading Drop. Crop. Ship., and a batch cropper panel showing one illustration already cropped to 1:1, 4:5 and 16:9 with a Ship 3 sizes button.

My own product, sold by subscription

Funky Design Tools

A throwaway tool I built for work, rebuilt into a real product people pay for. Drop in an image, it finds the face, and one click exports 38 ready-to-post sizes in a single ZIP file. Nothing is uploaded: it all runs in the browser, so a client's images never leave their machine.

Built on my own, first sketch to live billing

The live paraden.ai home page: the Paraden wordmark in mint on a near-black hexagon field, a headline about researching every prospect and writing to them personally, beside a product panel listing an ideal customer profile with 412 companies matched.

Founding designer, brand and public site

Paraden

An early-stage AI company with no public face at all. I built the brand from zero, then the live site that explains a complicated product one stage at a time, and handed the finished pages to their developer in the format his code needed.

Live at paraden.ai

The HR Grapevine redesign's article template presented on a dark staging panel: the story column beside the sidebar rail carrying most-popular, premium insight and resources blocks. The interface shown is the real template design.

Head of Design, news site redesign

HR Grapevine

A media brand reaching over 300,000 senior HR readers, who landed on a page and left. I rebuilt every page around three numbers: how long people stay, how many read a second story, and how many sign up. Eleven templates, designed and then coded by hand.

Built and signed off, pre-deploy

The portfolio at rronimami.com: a dark dot-grid canvas holding movable panels, with home, about and contact on the left and five project cards on the right, watched by an eye made of connected dots.

This site, the portfolio behind it

The portfolio

Every case study lives on the other side of this link, on a page that behaves like the design tool I work in. Drag the panels around, resize them, retype my copy while you are in there. Something is watching you do it, and it has opinions.

Live, and best on a laptop

Two things I sell

Everything else on this site is proof, not a pitch.

For a business whose site no longer fits it, and for a new one that needs to be found. I do the design and the build myself.

What you get

  • A site designed and built by the same person, so nothing gets lost in a handover
  • Words and page structure written so search engines can find you, checked properly before it goes live
  • Every page tested on real phones and laptops, not just on my screen
  • A walkthrough at the end, so you can run the thing without me

Start an enquiry

For a new business that needs an identity before it needs anything else, and for one that has outgrown the look it started with.

What you get

  • A brand you can actually use: logo, colours, fonts and tone of voice, with all the files to go with it
  • The logo drawn properly, so it still reads small on a phone and clean on a sign
  • Real pages and posts showing the brand in use, not a page of swatches
  • Short, plain rules for using it, so whoever picks it up next gets it right

Start an enquiry most people take this with a site

Who you hire

Most designers hand over a file. I hand over the thing.

Nine years designing products, brands and the systems that hold them together, currently as Head of Design at HR Grapevine, where I redesigned every page template and then coded them myself.

In my own time I build Funky Design Tools, a subscription product I designed, built and set up billing for on my own. That is why 'then I build it' is not a claim on a slide. It is a product you can go and use.

How we work things out

  1. 01

    Talk

You tell me what the business needs. I tell you honestly whether I am the right person for it.

  2. 02

    Design

You see real screens of your actual site, not a rough sketch, while changes are still cheap.

  3. 03

    Build

I build it myself and test it on real devices before it goes live.

  4. 04

    Hand over

You get the files, the code and the keys, and a walkthrough so you can run it without me.

Tell me what you need

A few lines is plenty. I read every one of these myself and I reply either way, including when the answer is that I am not the right fit.
